I finished the round ripple baby afghan I was making for my cousin Eden’s first baby, which is a boy. I used Hobby Lobby’s Yarn Bee Baby Bee in Ladybug Ombre, which is so soft. I really enjoyed using it (this was the first time). I also took a photo of the yarn hoping to be able to show the color better. It was hard to do it justice. It seems that yarn colors are never quite right when you post images of them.

I used two skeins to make the afghan, with a small amount used from a third to do a simple ch-3, single crochet border since it’s for a boy. Plus, a more elaborate border just didn’t seem right for this one.
I finished the baby washcloths & then went & forgot to take a picture! What an idiotic move to make. I ended up making a free pattern from Knits by Rachel called Luv Bug, which I made in the I Love This Cotton yarn from Hobby Lobby in the green. I also made the Baby Face cloth in cream, plus two square cloths with a ruffle edging. I can’t believe I forgot to take photo’s! Sheesh, my brain has left the skull LOL. Oh, well, I’m making some more for my other cousin, Sylvia, who is expecting her second child in three months. I definitely won’t forget to take photo’s of those. I already have two done. I’m also making her an afghan, I just haven’t decided what yet. They didn’t want to know the sex of the baby, so I will be using generic colors. I used cream for the first baby, which ended up being a boy. I’m also planning to make some baby booties for my sister Sara to take to work for their monthly “raffle”. She works for the WIC program and at the end of the month they have a drawing for a special prize for a new mommy. Several of the ladies there crochet & make things, and this prize has a mix of items. They also make & donate to the new mom’s baby afghans throughout the month. The mom’s absolutely love getting the handmade items. Plus, baby afghans are so quick to make up that you can make several for donation a month in your spare time, which is what I intend to start doing in between Christmas items. My Tennessee ones have to be done by Thanksgiving, which is when we do Christmas with my family & our oldest daughter. Although last year was nice since we couldn’t go down Rachel & Matt came up here for a week (crowded, noisy, but nice).
I hear my book calling my name. I think I’ll go finish it, then update my To-Make list & get to work.
Happy crafting.
Sherry
