Spiderman AfghanI finished my Spiderman afghan for Kaitlin last night!!!

We decided to make it lap size so that she can use it when she is sitting at her desk. Here is what it looks like. She has already begun using it. I really like how it turned out.

The pattern for the Spiderman Round Ripple afghan can be found at Stitch ‘n Frog or AngelCrafts.  A round ripple baby afghan using colors suitable for a baby or child can be found here.

I just finished an exchange & I was very please with how it turned out. So was the recipient. She collects wolves, so for a coaster exchange I made her some that are shaped like paw prints (the pattern). I also made her a knitted paw print cloth which can be used for a dishcloth or wash cloth. I thought they turned out really neat.

I just started making an “M” square for the afghan I’m making for my sister Melissa for her wedding. The other square will be an “S” for Stephen. The colors are royal blue & white and they will be knitted squares. I think I will just sew them together but I haven’t decided yet.

I made a squirrel dish cloth for my sister’s friend Tommy, who likes squirrels so much that he would like to be reincarnated as one. I will post a photo as soon as I take one!

I am recovering from a bicycle accident that occurred over a week ago. The scrapes & bruises are getting better. However, the poison that I somehow magically appeared ONLY on my injured elbow (the right of course–and I’m right-handed) and the left side of my neck, towards the back. The few places on my arm have gotten better but the one on my neck, which is just a round circle about the size of a quarter, is getting worse. I guess I’ll be going to the doctor if it doesn’t get better soon. Poison ivy/oak, etc. and I do not get along.

I hear my book calling my name. I am reading “Marlfox” by Brian Jacques for the second time. He is a good writer and I enjoy his Redwall series. When I finish that I think I will read David Eddings “The Belgariad” again.

Take care & happy crafting!

EDITED FEBRUARY 5, 2010:

Pattern for crocheted paw print coasters is no longer available online. I have tried to find it at another link but haven’t had much luck. It is not available through the wayback machine either. I have it printed out, but due to copyright issues I am not able to share.

I’ve been working hard to get some projects finished. Here are a few.I finally finished my horses–all seven! (Yes, there is a cat sleeping in the background, it is not an optical illusion!)
These are some bookmarks I made for exchanges. The heart-shaped one is a corner bookmark, something I had been wanting to make but hadn’t had the opportunity yet.
I am currently working on finishing a tote bag for Rachel for school this fall (she starts college!), a baby afghan that needs it’s ribbon added and will be finished, the Spiderman afghan for Kaitlin, and a few other projects.

Happy crafting!
