Today was my baby girl’s first day at her first job. She started working at the Dairy Queen, which just happens to be where her sister had her first job (albeit in another state). Here she is in her uniform. I didn’t cry or anything. I knew she would do well, it’s just that this is my homeschooled kid. We’ve been in each other’s back pocket for the last 5 years. She’s interested in the same things that I am. We are bookaholics and like the same types of books, love art & music, chocolate, a lot of the same TV shows, and many other things. My oldest daughter is like me in that she is very emotional and feels things deeply. We both love movies, just not always the same type.So today I had that moment of panicky, last baby bird leaving the next anxiety attack, then I realized that this chick is not going to be in a hurry to leave the family pond (unlike her big sister who couldn’t wait to get out there). So I’ve got time to adjust to it.Knit-wise, I’ve been making some more of those dragonfly squares with a yarn I got from Hobby Lobby called “I Love This Yarn” in dark blue. They are turning out really nice and the yarn, which is 100% acrylic, is working up beautifully. I’m also going to start a drawstring tote for my daughter Rachel’s friend Brooke in black & pink, with a cloth lining with Tinkerbell on it (if I can find some).
Crochet-wise I just finished making miniature horse, duck, & some Easter fridgies–no pics yet but soon. My SIL wants me to make some of the horses for her Sunday school kids. As soon as I can I’ll post a photo of them.
Happy crafting!
