Well, today is my introduction to blogging. My daughters have been doing it for sometime…but of course they are younglings compared to me. Rachel is 20 and Kaitlin just turned 18….sigh…now I feel like I’m a hundred instead of 40……41, yeah, that’s it. Don’t think about that often, except on days when I’ve knitted or crocheted too much and my hands hurt like fire. Then I feel the years. I’ve been crocheting since I was about 14.
Okay, now, about me. I am She Who Must Be Obeyed At All Costs, or Mom as my girls call me. I am the chief everything at our house–and I didn’t even campaign for the position! My husband John & I have been married for 23 years, two children as mentioned above, two cats & a bird, and currently living in Indiana.
We seem to be ping pong balls when it comes to where we live. We live here a few years, then we move back to Tennessee, which is my home state, and live there for a few years. I’m from Middle Tennessee, the Cumberland Plateau area. Here is information about my part of Tennessee: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cumberland_Plateau. I am from Overton County, a large, rural county and my Mom, Stepdad, younger sisters and oodles of other family still live there. I have lots of family there & some of them are really scary. My daughter lives in Putnam county, which borders Overton.
I am a college graduate as of May 7, 2005 with a degree in Communications from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, Tennessee. I have minors in English and History. My oldest daughter will be attending TTU, working on a degree in Education. My youngest hasn’t decided what she wants to do yet. She’s like me, interested in a million things, whereas Rachel has planned to teach little ones ever since she was in elementary school. She currently teaches 4-yr. olds–more power to her! I couldn’t handle that many rug bugs in the same room.
Here is a link to my WebShots community photo album: http://community.webshots.com/user/Lady_Embra. There are photos of my family and my crochet projects. I just created it and I’m still debating over what things to add. I will be adding an album for my knitting projects. I just taught myself how to knit this last month and I’ve finished my first project. It is a tote bag. I used crochet to accent the handles and made a 6″ square to decorate the front. I lined it with some material my sister gave me for Christmas. I’m very proud of it. I can crochet just about anything but knitting was something I just couldn’t seem to get a handle on. I guess the time wasn’t right until now for me to get it—you know, that big light bulb going off kinda thing—or is that the bing bang????
Take care and have a safe day.
